i'm experiencing deja vu....

2019-12-30 19:47:14 UTC

there was another mass shooting stopped by a bystander with a gun.....

2019-12-30 19:47:26 UTC

who was old, and had a white beard

2019-12-30 19:47:34 UTC

and was also a firearms instructor

2019-12-30 19:47:50 UTC

like 6-8 months ago

2019-12-30 19:48:01 UTC

Moral of the story: Don't fuck with actual boomers

2019-12-30 19:48:30 UTC

Yes.

2019-12-30 19:48:31 UTC

boomers can deliver when they feel like it

2019-12-30 19:48:42 UTC

Do not fuck with boomers. <:powerful:639994936070242315>

2019-12-30 19:49:03 UTC

He dropped him with a headshot from 10-15 meters.

2019-12-30 19:49:16 UTC

Quite a nice shot, especially for such a situation. Hats off, what a lad.

2019-12-30 19:52:30 UTC

Yeah, that was impressive as shit

2019-12-30 19:52:58 UTC

Second Deacon failed though, didnt clear his weapon anywhere near fast enough. probably in shock

2019-12-30 19:53:34 UTC

He tried to draw on the drop. No matter how fast you draw you do not do that.

2019-12-30 19:54:19 UTC

What does drawing on the drop mean

2019-12-30 19:54:47 UTC

If someone points a weapon in your direction you do not draw.

2019-12-30 19:55:47 UTC

Ah, yeah. He also stood up from what I saw and made himself a target

2019-12-30 19:56:47 UTC

Can be excused by just an immediate reaction to a threat suddenly appearing and taking him off guard

2019-12-30 19:59:44 UTC

Yeah, but that is why I carry appendix.

2019-12-30 20:00:01 UTC

You want to draw with less attention while staying seated.

2019-12-30 20:00:35 UTC

Also easier to clear garment.

2019-12-30 20:04:09 UTC

It depends. There has been lots of research into it and and drawing on the drop is VERY EFFECTIVE

2019-12-30 20:04:42 UTC

But... it depends on the mindset of the guy who already has his gun out though

2019-12-30 20:05:01 UTC

If he is just holding it at you threatening, drawing is the best option, you will win

2019-12-30 20:05:15 UTC

if he is swinging towards you with pure intent to kill... no, he will win

2019-12-30 20:05:54 UTC

The key is intent. once your brain has made the decision to pull the trigger, you act MUCH faster

2019-12-30 20:06:37 UTC

If you are just pointing the gun, or drawing it as a flex, you will lose every time because your brain hesitates

2019-12-30 20:13:41 UTC

Drawing on the drop is always a bad idea Darth. In all real defence situations the guy who draws on the drop gets shot first. Usually whoever puts shots on target first wins the encounter.

2019-12-30 20:15:55 UTC

Most probably the guy who holds you at gun point will not execute you after a random amount of time has passed. You will want to wait until you have the tactical advantage to draw.

2019-12-30 20:18:09 UTC

On the flat range, I draw from appendix in under a second with clearing light garment. Now at least add 0.5-1.0 seconds on top of that in such a stressful situation. That is 1.5-2 seconds from draw to first shot. This will get you killed. And I spent hundreds of hours each month on the range. Your average dude will have no chance drawing on the drop.

Court case where a "not ready weapon" was shown in court to get to the ready and deadly position in plenty of time

2019-12-30 20:25:31 UTC

The whole case depend on how fast the gun could be made "ready"

@DarthSammich Well the guy did not shoot the cop because he wasn't a killer.

2019-12-30 20:30:20 UTC

The cop did not shoot on the draw either. He even had time to draw his taser with the other hand after issuing verbal commands. Both were not ready to kill that day.
