@Monstrous Moonshine it's not that bad of a take for tim tbh

2019-11-12 12:16:53 UTC

he get's a little bit wrong, but for the most part he's just presenting it with his usual brush of the left/ msm are dishonest

2019-11-12 12:21:39 UTC

the bulk of the vid was dedicated to how the press is evolving to present explosive clickbaity articles for clicks and then issuing retractions 24 hours later

2019-11-12 12:21:57 UTC

seems to be the status quo for a lot of major publications and is pumping them cash with no recourse

2019-11-12 12:22:24 UTC

At one point he justifies Q/A censorship and differentiates it from Twitter censoring people

2019-11-12 12:22:42 UTC

Even though philosophically both are violations of Free Speech

2019-11-12 12:24:31 UTC

Events like "Prove me wrong" and "change my mind" are advertised as a platform for open discussion and them censoring well dressed individuals asking pressing questions should have been called out by Tim Pool, if he purports to be a Free Speech activist

2019-11-12 12:24:41 UTC

Instead he justified it

2019-11-12 12:25:56 UTC

No, you misunderstand his point. The comparison to twitter was to demonstrate that TPUSA choosing not have a QnA at a ticketed private event isnt a violation of free speech

2019-11-12 12:26:52 UTC

whereas if the dialogue was to occur on something like twitter which is effectively the modern day town square, and opted to try and suppress questions

2019-11-12 12:26:58 UTC

it would be a violation of free speech

2019-11-12 12:27:44 UTC

who thought there would be a day where I'd defend tim pool

2019-11-12 12:27:56 UTC

Twitter de-platforming people is also not a violation, if you go by private vs govt.

2019-11-12 12:27:56 UTC

<:peepoW:569895299070296082>

2019-11-12 12:28:17 UTC

sure but thats the conversation being had right now

2019-11-12 12:28:32 UTC

is twitter the town square

2019-11-12 12:28:46 UTC

tim thinks it is

2019-11-12 12:28:50 UTC

Regardless if it was a private event, they did not do Q/A because of obvious reasons. I'd count that as a violation of Free Speech

2019-11-12 12:28:50 UTC

so do a lot of conservatives

2019-11-12 12:29:28 UTC

it was a private event, what obligation do they have to take questions?

2019-11-12 12:29:35 UTC

choosing not to take questions

2019-11-12 12:29:40 UTC

is not the same as suppressing speech

2019-11-12 12:31:16 UTC

Not all private events, sure. But the ones advertising itself as "prove me wrong" (Dan Crenshaw's) and "change my mind" etc. should fall under this

2019-11-12 12:31:32 UTC

and they both took questions

2019-11-12 12:31:37 UTC

and were made to look like fools

2019-11-12 12:31:49 UTC

I don't understand your point

2019-11-12 12:31:58 UTC

The Trump JNR event was a book signing

2019-11-12 12:32:24 UTC

don't get me wrong it was a major victory for fuentes

2019-11-12 12:32:50 UTC

but it's important to not blow things out of proportion or mislead or get things wrong

2019-11-12 12:32:56 UTC

we are under to much scrutiny as it is

2019-11-12 12:33:15 UTC

My point is that there was a Q/A event which was scheduled before hand, which was cancelled once they got the wind of the kind of audience that had showed up

2019-11-12 12:33:36 UTC

And they cited "time constraints" as an excuse

2019-11-12 12:34:01 UTC

Had there been regular socialists etc. who had showed up, they would've gladly taken their questions

2019-11-12 12:34:18 UTC

So in that sense, they were censoring the Groypers to avoid conflict

2019-11-12 12:34:18 UTC

Sure, but its not a violation of free speech

2019-11-12 12:35:04 UTC

They chose to take an L rather than have repeats of crenshaw or kirk

2019-11-12 12:36:00 UTC

framing it is a freespeech violation is massive reach

2019-11-12 15:28:40 UTC

Nick retweeted this

> The phony @Timcast lied about @NickJFuentes in his most recent video.
> Doesn't name him but calls him and his people "white nationalist" and "far right", says he's not a real Trump supporter them begs for money.
