Yes
As for diversity and social cohesion putnam is by far the most cited

Is the US too far gone demographically? Even with 0 immigration birth rates will make white people be a increasingly smaller minority either way right?
As a whole yes the US is demographicly doomed. Certain states and clusters of states are still salvageable though.
fucking based
Honestly America is going to have a second civil war, and if it completely breaks apart into different states then I would expect more wars after that.
Anyway like I was saying the other day, I’m a irredentist, not a separatist
So if America does break apart I’m all for manifest destiny round 2
Oof
"A ponzi that never dumps" You think this shit could work lmao?

@Roko I don't have access the Putnam paper but from what I could gather from the relatively short abstract, the author seems to be largely in agreement with me, in that immigration, in the short run, impinges on societal cohesion and trust, but that in the long run, there are benefits to immigration, namely economical, and cultural ones.
@Roko Can you directly link me to the study on the number of sexual partners and marital stability pls?
@Vegan INTJ
I linked to the surveys from which the data was collected. I'm not aware of a study on the issue. Also putnams conclusions don't really explain how or why he believes that in the long run it will be fine
In fact i think he sat on his findings for something like 6 years before publishing because they disturbed him so much.
@Monstrous Moonshine what book is that from
why is carl back
And oh btw, here is the right pic
Women with 6-9 partners were in some years more likely to be divorced than those with 2 partners
So I don't think promiscuity in and of itself is that much of a big deal
It might just that women with certain issues tend to be more promiscuous. For example, women with a lower IQ might be more promiscuous, and low IQ increases chance of divorce
Charles Murray went over this briefly in his bell curve I think
Sure i think that definitly plays a part. The type of person who would engage in lots of extramarital sex would intuitively seem to be less suited for a long term relationship. But it's also possible that pair bonding becomes increasingly difficult with more partners.
Can you link to that article you screencapped
@Monstrous Moonshine What book is that page from?
