I actually like the design.

I know, but that's the look Musk is going for, and looking at architecture nowadays, he's spot on. Once that truck becomes mainstream, it'll fit in pretty well with most modern cities.

Though I personally like the juxtaposition found in a lot of futuristic media, which is something you see in Interstellar, with the classic looking corn farm with romote controlled harvesters.
Notice how this guy is still driving a Ford in the 2060s? See, in many ways the future won't be too different from now. There's only so much you can advance.
I reckon people will still be driving cars from the 1970s in the 2070s, just because we like the way they look.
