Try low carb, high fat diet

2019-03-27 15:12:05 UTC

Medium on the protein

2019-03-27 15:12:49 UTC

By the way, in order to excercise you can buy some elastic bands:

2019-03-27 15:13:09 UTC

With some like those you can exercise pretty much every part of your body, at almost any intensity level

2019-03-27 15:13:20 UTC

They are also really light and you can carry them to university

2019-03-27 15:15:39 UTC

Get some food with minimal oil. Drop fries. Absolutely no eating between meals. And small meals

2019-03-27 15:16:18 UTC

If you fear you will hunger too much, get some flavored protein power to make protein shakes. They will fill you considerably while being mainly proteins.

2019-03-27 15:20:05 UTC

If you consume too much protein, you'll skrew up your metabolism

2019-03-27 15:20:16 UTC

I can't say I recommend that

2019-03-27 15:22:01 UTC

I have been told that the alleged risks of protein are myths

2019-03-27 15:22:26 UTC

And that any excess is just excreted

2019-03-27 15:22:46 UTC

Still, you aren't going to consume too much with, lets say, a shake a day

2019-03-27 15:22:54 UTC

if you feel too hungry

2019-03-27 18:33:37 UTC

@Mozalbete ⳩ Lest my research is wrong, it's not an issue of protein specifically

2019-03-27 18:35:31 UTC

When you consume one source of calories as your primary source, your body uses that as its "go to" source. That's the biggest reason why high fat, low carb diet actually works. When you run out of calories from your most recent meal, your body easily switches to fat stores.

2019-03-27 18:36:06 UTC

When you eat protein for your primary intake, your body will eat at muscle when it runs out of calories from the most recent meal.

2019-03-27 18:38:24 UTC

But it is true that if you over-eat on a high protein diet, you will pee out any protein calories your body can't use to make ATP or new muscle tissue

I've been thinking about getting into martial arts lately, but I'm not sure what styles to look into. Any of you guys have any experience in this area??

2019-03-30 00:42:25 UTC

Depends if you just want a way to work out or you want to learn to kick ass

2019-03-30 00:43:06 UTC

At the moment I'm more focused on working out.

2019-03-30 00:44:17 UTC

Try karate then. lol

2019-03-30 00:45:26 UTC

Ok, what about for kicking ass?

2019-03-30 00:46:35 UTC

muay thai

2019-03-30 00:53:15 UTC

krav maga, systema

2019-03-30 00:56:15 UTC

<:rubbetirub:550020519420755970>

2019-03-30 01:59:23 UTC

muay thai, kickboxing

2019-03-30 02:06:20 UTC

@SteamedHams I know some about martial arts

2019-03-30 02:07:30 UTC

What are you looking for? One on one or multiple opponents? Offensive or defensive? Asian or Western? Weapons or hand to hand?

2019-03-30 02:09:10 UTC

So there are a few places near me that teach martial arts. Main ones are BJJ, muay thai, and combat hapkido. I'm looking for something to improve general fitness but also provide some defensive skills as well.

2019-03-30 02:19:35 UTC

I did competitive sport pistol shooting for 5 years, and wanted something more physical after i was done, after 5 years of shooting range I was left with a nasty back pain from shooting positions, lack of physical exercise, and weak back muscles, after a while I started doing muay-thai, the back pain that i had for a about more than a year dissapeared after 3 months, and im the best shape of my life rn

2019-03-30 02:22:44 UTC

its my 3rd year doing muay thai and im satisfied in what i learned concerning fighting, as I had once found myself at a fight outside the gym, to test that

2019-03-30 02:25:21 UTC

so I would recomend such sport to you, just make sure the coaches there are not scammers or slackers, and will actually teach you to fight

2019-03-30 02:26:35 UTC

our coach is a certified trainer and he was a competition fighter himself, so he always give good advices

2019-03-30 02:38:02 UTC

@SteamedHams I'm not familiar with the latter two. I have a friend that does BJJ and he seems to get workouts from it, but it looks super gay when they roll around on the ground lol

2019-03-30 02:40:19 UTC

you will look pretty gay also when one of them breaks your arm

2019-03-30 02:41:13 UTC

or chokes you out

2019-03-30 02:46:57 UTC

just go and learn a traditional combat sport that is around for a long time

2019-03-30 02:47:38 UTC

such as boxing, muaythai, jiujitsu, taekwondo etc.

2019-03-30 02:47:51 UTC

dont fall for that ''self defence'' meme
