There are a lot of Southern Baptists in the area I live in. No offense but the general consensus in my area is that Baptists are hypocrites.

Why is that?

Because they are. They abstain from everything with no reason to. The will by itself only resists the flesh for so long.

Fair enough. I didn't know enough about them to really hold any ill will against them, but I was curious anyway.

Many of them are very educated in the faith. Even though they are Sola scriptura they can answer many questions. but once you get into practical application of the faith that's where you get into the weeds with him. They are not a very broad Faith but they are deep. that lack and breath is what is the problem and gets them into trouble. it's almost like if they actually read scripture and understood that when the apostle said trust in anything that we write to you or say to you that they should have listened.

I guess it's like any Sola Scripture denomination. One drank the paint thinner, the other ate the paint chips.
