i'm in a university town
Is this not the same trap we have fallen in over and over again for the past 70 years?
so I think I could poster the school too
I'm trying to start a chapter
We must think saints, not generals
There's some guys in my area but we're pretty spread out
in our actions, in our planning
we are not Christians because we seek more ink on the map demarcting our territory, we should really embrace our faith, and try to let some of that beauty shine through to other people in our lifes
Saints, so that we can witness by our actions, inspiring others to become Catholic?
I like you, Kaitsar.
cross out Catholic, and we have a deal 😛
I'm just an Orthodox Observer really
but the principle aplies none the less
Hey, you bring 'em to the Orthodox Church, I'll bring 'em to the Catholic. Finders keepers.
hehehe, agreed
No chill for catholics 😢
who was the saint who said that if you find inner peace, a thousand souls around you will be saved?
Not sure, but it sounds like a good plan.
and, I mean I dont think you even have to be a great saint to let the light shine through. I think something as simple as patience sometimes with people, a virtue sorlely lacking today
can sometimes open peoples minds
Show by your every action that you deeply care about them.
and, even viewing this as purely an engineering or a tactical issue, we need to build up a critical mass, if you will
before the fire will get started
but in the end, it's not about engineering, it is about our relationship with God, love, and so on
granted, my perspective on it is going to be somewhat different coming from a more Orthodox setting
I'm Byzantine, so I know where you're coming from.
I feel too many of the reactionaries of the past, they have just had a mechanical faith, or a blind fear of the future. We must embrace what we love, and we must not look at society as an engineering challenge, but as something to be dealt with with prayer and discernment.
Of course, in the end, it is all up to God
in a purely secular sense--we have no power 😛
That's good for us all to remember.
they have the senators and the CEOs and the academics and the artists
and we got...... well I'm a composite technician
not sure what you all are 😛
I'm a bit of an artist.
More literary than otherwise. Honestly, I couldn't draw well to save my life, but there you have it. Give me words, and I'll give you fantasy!
Yeah, so we have to pray, and we have to contemplate what our next step is from God
I am not totally against activism or "practical" things, since sometimes they do bear important fruit, however, God will guide us to where we need to be for best effect
I feel just rushing head on in to these things, or completly writing them off is not giving due consideration in our lives
@Deleted User I ask you to think and discern, whether your idea truly is the best one, or is it just a fit of action, an idea you want to believe, but feel no soul behind?
anyway, I say these things because I am fed up with the cycle, the toxic cycle that seems to dominate a lot of these such groups
