There's really not that much difference.

I’m not in favor of banning social media because finding and becoming part of the online Orthodox community is one thing that helped me solidify my faith when I came back to the Church last year

And in general, social media DOES have benefits. Yeah there are downsides, but there are downsides to just about everything

Like literally all of my Orthodox best friends, I met because of social media and they are a big influence and support in my life

I suppose you have a point.
