Iโm not in favor of banning social media because finding and becoming part of the online Orthodox community is one thing that helped me solidify my faith when I came back to the Church last year
And in general, social media DOES have benefits. Yeah there are downsides, but there are downsides to just about everything
Like literally all of my Orthodox best friends, I met because of social media and they are a big influence and support in my life
We have a small orthodox community where I live and the youth in our churches donโt really take church seriously for the most part. Social media has connected me to the most grounding and important people in my life, who take the faith seriously and help me grow as a Christian. Befriending them was actually the catalyst that finally brought me back last year, and on more than one occasion have held me in place from leaving again when I fell back into my old ways. Itโs really motivating and inspiring to have found friends that struggle with you and care about church. Like I literally wouldnโt be where I am with my faith if it wasnโt for social media and the people Iโve met through it. Not to mention all the Orthodox Facebook groups that provide something wholesome to browse through and keep my mind centered on Orthodox content

Intermittent fasting is so great aaaa. When Iโve got a good routine (in general) going, itโs a super helpful thing to have as part of my routine. I just havenโt decided whether skipping food for the first part of the day and eating later in the afternoon is better for me, or if itโs better to have breakfast and lunch and just not eat again until the next morning.
Itโs definitely easier to not eat when I wake up and prolong that as long as I can, but then Iโm more likely to eat to much in the evening

But I think itโs probably better for me personally to start my day with food, so Iโll just have to learn how to deal with the night cravings better
