Hello all. As an Anglican, Church I attended when I became a Christian, I've been looking into different denominations such as Orthodoxy, which I'm leaning towards, or Catholicism but there are some things that bug me because I come from a protestant tradition. Do you think there are any protestant denominations that are right and do you see that there are things in the older traditions that might be heretical, or at least extra biblical? Sorry if this is vague but I am trying to reconcile lots of different things.

2018-07-17 13:49:03 UTC

You worship the jesus right? Which catholics are cool with

2018-07-17 13:52:14 UTC

Yeah.

2018-07-17 13:53:10 UTC

Never met a catholic against protestantism

2018-07-17 13:55:33 UTC

Are you high? Protestantism is by definition an attack on catholicism and orthodoxy

2018-07-17 13:55:53 UTC

Protestantism is gay

2018-07-17 13:56:23 UTC

Well i hadn't met a catholic against protestantism until today

2018-07-17 14:00:33 UTC

I meet them all the time lol.

2018-07-17 14:00:59 UTC

Well. I see them online. Most one's I've met have been nothing but polite and courteous

2018-07-17 14:01:36 UTC

I just don't like the way the protestant Church is Liberalising and but I have some hang ups with the older traditions.

2018-07-17 14:27:51 UTC

Protestantism is born as an attack on catholicism and the whole apostolic authority overall

2018-07-17 14:28:34 UTC

I don't believe that to be the case it was supposed to be a reformation of deemed heresies

2018-07-17 14:28:44 UTC

We respect apostolic authority

2018-07-17 14:28:46 UTC

Wut?

2018-07-17 14:28:55 UTC

Do you understand when someone is considered a heresy?

2018-07-17 14:29:05 UTC

When it is declared as such by the authority of the Church

2018-07-17 14:29:05 UTC

A heretic? Yes

2018-07-17 14:29:21 UTC

That is why arianism is a heresy and not the other way round

2018-07-17 14:29:30 UTC

Protestantism is born as a rejection of that authority

2018-07-17 14:29:58 UTC

Only because it was decided upon by a number of believers, that's essentially saying church is based on democracy and not scripture

2018-07-17 14:30:12 UTC

Which protestants reject

2018-07-17 14:30:18 UTC

The Church is based on the apostoloc authority of the Church

2018-07-17 14:30:26 UTC

It is by that aurhotity that scripture is born

2018-07-17 14:30:55 UTC

Yeah and the Anglican church declares itself to be apostolic

2018-07-17 14:31:05 UTC

The thing is, being apostolic is not something you decide

2018-07-17 14:31:12 UTC

Which is in our creed

2018-07-17 14:31:13 UTC

But something you are through an unbroken line of succession

2018-07-17 14:31:27 UTC

Muhammed could as well declare himself to be apostolic

2018-07-17 14:31:50 UTC

Please don't be retarded and facetious

2018-07-17 14:31:57 UTC

You know what I mean

2018-07-17 14:32:09 UTC

Many people who were Catholic became Anglican

2018-07-17 14:32:20 UTC

And that's where we draw our line from

2018-07-17 14:32:41 UTC

Retarded and facetious?
