Spanish has a rich history and successor to Latin

Mandarin and arabic seem to be quite a pain

I'd rather learn latin than any of its offshoots, it's a shame nobody really uses it besides papists and SPQR nerds

Mandarin is actually a very simple language, the hurdles are tones and the writing

Russian is not that hard, but not a latin nor a germanic language (even if it has a lot of words borrowed from French/German)

One is spoken by millions while the other is spoken by a few autists
