Inductive bible study?

2018-08-17 09:46:30 UTC

Trying to inspire virtue in a "Cool Wine Aunt"-esque receptionist is like beating your fists against a brick wall.

2018-08-17 10:58:22 UTC

Also, would any of you have any good counter arguments for "Muh religion causes all wars"?

2018-08-17 14:21:21 UTC

Literally any war in history

2018-08-17 14:21:44 UTC

Because actually none of them were specifically caused by religion

2018-08-17 14:22:14 UTC

Religion may shave been a part of the war but it was never the reason it started

2018-08-17 14:31:24 UTC

@Based Chav "Just because religion might have been used as a justification or motivator by leaders and those in power doesn't mean it was the actual cause of war. Almost every war in history has been over the same things- power and resources. Using religion as a cover for the need for power and resources doesn't mean religion was the cause- just an easy justification and motivator to get people to fight for their leader/tribe's power and resources."

2018-08-17 15:03:43 UTC

You went to that church?

2018-08-17 15:08:04 UTC

It was shut :(

2018-08-17 15:08:13 UTC

But we looked round it

2018-08-17 16:11:57 UTC

A locked church is a great disappointment.

2018-08-17 16:12:08 UTC

It was 9:45am

2018-08-17 16:12:12 UTC

Tbf

2018-08-17 16:12:34 UTC

I keep seeing eastern orthodox churches in germany, austria

2018-08-17 16:13:01 UTC

Switzerland too

2018-08-17 16:13:58 UTC

Wait Switzerland too? In the cities i assume? I could not care about Germany or Austria (aka cheap Switzerland).

2018-08-17 16:15:47 UTC

Still, though. I'd understand a church being locked when the sun is down, but that late in the morning? Please. Open the church.

2018-08-17 16:22:00 UTC

Most churches at least in the mountainous and rural Swiss Cantons are mostly open, i have yet to find a church in a hamlet/village or even a small city that is closed in daytime. Some aren't even closed at night as the farmers know how important it can be to pray in front of the Lord in certain times.

2018-08-17 16:22:17 UTC

Yes.

2018-08-17 16:22:33 UTC

I can understand why people want to close the church at night, but that doesn't mean I approve of it!

2018-08-17 16:28:02 UTC

I can also understand why at least Catholic Churches would close by night as they are most often have baroque (like) art and other precious items inside it. Sometimes even priceless. On the other hand Reformed Churches have no real reason to close as they have a lot less to be stolen, so to speak.

2018-08-17 18:14:59 UTC

as long as we'll have strangers and also mason-minded people, we cannot afford to have them open like we used to

2018-08-17 18:16:10 UTC

in France we sometimes have anarchists that destroy or tag religious sculptures that are in the open

2018-08-17 18:18:04 UTC

antichristian/masons that steal crucifixes (I remember one day on the news, a guy that stole around 10 000 crucifixes, small icons and small statues ; the journalist/voiceover did not show a single hint of disappointment and it was treated as something "funny and unusual" (sic))

2018-08-17 18:18:22 UTC

and arabs/gypsies/jews that sometimes steal the jewelry

2018-08-17 18:42:23 UTC

We tend to avoid cities

2018-08-17 18:42:34 UTC

But this one was in liechenstien

2018-08-17 18:50:00 UTC

is it bad that I use garlic in almost everything?

2018-08-17 19:00:01 UTC

No, it's bad you aren't eating raw garlic, though

2018-08-17 19:00:08 UTC

What are you, a soyboy?

2018-08-17 19:56:11 UTC

are you Italian ?

2018-08-17 20:02:01 UTC

Do Jews like Communism because it makes everything free?

2018-08-17 22:09:02 UTC

I theorize they're drawn to destabilizing a host society as a means of hiding in plain sight.

2018-08-17 22:22:30 UTC

A spontaneous musing on pro-choice arguments: The sole ethos of those in the pro-choice camp seems to boil down to the bleating of "My body, my choice". In and of itself, this shifts the moral imperative in the dilemma to "Right is in the hands of ability of those capable of making the choice". In which case, does this make a rapist who is capable of choosing if and who to attack of a higher moral ground than his victim who is not granted a choice in such a crime?

2018-08-17 22:33:32 UTC

Is it bad that I still listen to secular music?

2018-08-17 22:34:00 UTC

@Charles V They like it because they created it to grab power.

2018-08-17 22:34:33 UTC

Also <@&273567579946090498> You guys are playing a dangerous game letting muslims join.

2018-08-17 22:34:46 UTC

...what.

2018-08-17 22:35:05 UTC

...muslims?

2018-08-17 22:35:07 UTC

@Based Chav Karl Marx was Jewish
