And he read all of it
The word of God changed him, and by the time the debate began he already believed Jesus of Nazareth was the Lord of the worlds
He still won the debate, but only with what he knew were sophistical arguments without a true logical basis
This is why I have never been impressed with atheists who have the impression that only stupid people are Christian
My father went on to Caltech for undergrad and Berkeley for PhD
I will thank God if I can be as godly as he is, or more
It's through this convert to the true faith that I know the Lord today
He has brought me to worship the Lord every Lord's Day
He has taught me both orthodoxy and orthopraxy
He has encouraged me to learn the Scriptures
He has rejected what is popular but sinful
He has embraced what is unpopular but just and true
He has kept himself clean of sexual defilement
Praise God you have such a father!
@Daniil Oxford.
Neat
Ever thought of founding an official chapter?
Off-topic, but is the reason why the fantasy genre is so attractive is because people actually realize that modernity and modern values suck?
Some of it
When it is done well, yes
I remember how Gurge RR Mertins made Stannis as an example of why Medieval values were terrible, and why modern values based on social-contract theory were superior, but then everyone ended up loving Stannis and he got really butthurt about it.
John C Wright's young adult series is somewhat about this directly.... the elfs that secretly pull strings from the shadows have stolen meaning and hope from the world
It's not even with fantasy
Lol I love when that happens... Alan Moore was butthurt that people loved Rorschach
Oh yeahhhh.
Owlman was apparently the one that everyone was supposed to like, ahahahah
Soy owl
Like how Judge Dredd was made by a bunch of British degenerates to satirise "OY FASCISM BRUV" but then everybody ended up unironically loving Judge Dredd.
Btw Wright's ya series I mentioned is real good.... and has one segment I love bc it reminds me of all y'all crazy Catholics
I'll check it out
The hero is facing some monsters, including an evil wolf
The wolf hears he is a Christian, and laughs, and starts blaspheming
"When the disciples stole the body from the tomb, they dumped it unceremoniously in a field! None have tasted the flesh and blood of Christ but wolf and wolf alone!"
And the hero is gravely offended... but also overjoyed.
He isn't only slaying a monster. He also gets to slay a heretic.
You should go deeper than just fantasy genre. Escapism in general is popular right now.
Wow.
That's on an even higher level than Redwall.
Wasn't the guy that made Starship Troopers mad that everybody actually loved the movie unironically without understanding any of the "Lel satire mate"?
Lol
That is the thing with lefties
