I don't think you understand the Talmud doesn't try to describe historical events
Even if there was this reference to the events happening at most at 37BC, which I do not see anywhere, it would still be a clear reference towards Jesus
Because they hate Jesus
There is a "Yeshu", with disciples, who is accused of sorcery and executed with some kind of hanging in the Eve of Passover
And his **5** disciples
What I'm saying is that the only thing they share is the name Jesus and supposed sorcery
That is not a relevant deatail, because as I have said, it doesn't intend to be historical, nor say the truth, nor is it an important detail
the name
The sorcery
The execution during the Eve of Passover
The disciples
Accusation of leading Israel to apostasy
It is mentioned in other parts as one of the great enemies of Israel who is boiling in exccrement
That is in Sanhedrin 107
It was the general punishment for sorcery
According to their eschatology
What is in Sanhedrin 107?
Wait, no the excrement part is in Gittin
I find the reference very clear. It is no surprise, then, that in some manuscripts, the jews added "the Nasarene" to clear all doubts
FYI they stoned him
It is mentioned how some said "He is going forth to be stoned"
But the actual execution is always mentioned as "he was ahnged"
The mishna teaches that a crier goes out before the condemned man. This indicates that it is only before him, i.e., while he is being led to his execution, that yes, the crier goes out, but from the outset, before the accused is convicted, he does not go out. The Gemara raises a difficulty: But isn’t it taught in a baraita: On Passover Eve they hung the corpse of Jesus the Nazarene after they killed him by way of stoning. And a crier went out before him for forty days, publicly proclaiming: Jesus the Nazarene is going out to be stoned because he practiced sorcery, incited people to idol worship, and led the Jewish people astray. Anyone who knows of a reason to acquit him should come forward and teach it on his behalf. And the court did not find a reason to acquit him, and so they stoned him and hung his corpse on Passover eve.
Also important:
אמר עולא ותסברא בר הפוכי זכות הוא מסית הוא ורחמנא אמר (דברים יג, ט) לא תחמול ולא תכסה עליו אלא שאני ישו דקרוב למלכות הוה
Ulla said: And how can you understand this proof? Was Jesus the Nazarene worthy of conducting a search for a reason to acquit him? He was an inciter to idol worship, and the Merciful One states with regard to an inciter to idol worship: “Neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him” (Deuteronomy 13:9). Rather, Jesus was different, as he had close ties with the government, and the gentile authorities were interested in his acquittal. Consequently, the court gave him every opportunity to clear himself, so that it could not be claimed that he was falsely convicted.
**Deuteronomy 13:9 - New King James Version (NKJV)**
```Dust
<9> but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. ```
Close ties with the government? Something Jesus Christ didn't have.
Gentile authorities interested in his acquittal?
Jesus refused to conflic with the authorities, taught giving the Caesar what is his, and refused to be an instigator of war against the romans
That's far from close ties with the government
And we don't see them interested in his acquittal from the government
Is taht really your argument?
You are 1) foolish enough to think the jews wouldn't mention Jesus in their book, 2) foolish enough to think they would tell the truth about him
They keep what clearly identifies him
My point is that if they wanted to make this Jesus Christ, they really sucked at making any details correct, and if they were trying to make anti-Christian propoganda here, I don't see how this would have been effective
Do you really think the people who wrote the Talmud had any actual details about these things? Do you think they care about those that they are trying to slander?
This is so effective that they had to censor it
But if they are trying to slander Jesus here, then why did they do it in this manner? No lay-Jew would have known to associate this with Jesus Christ, especially when they change almost everything about him
Many of the parts about "totally not Jesus" in the Talmud are censored. What a coincidence
They directly mention his name, that he was a sorcerer, who had followers, led israel to apostasy and is now burning in excrement along with other great enemies of israel
