The idea that a firearms ban magically fixes the problem can be disproven very simply: the outer suburbs of Western Sydney have a major firearms problem. They restricted access to weapons (most people didn't need them anyway) to the point where the people who have them are criminals or those people who need them.
I understand the arguments for firearm ownership, but the simple fact of the matter is, I don't need a gun right now, so I'm not going to waste my money getting one.
