Also I've read a theory where the obsession with pedophiles and child porn as pretty much the only moral taboo we have left, is actually a ploy to make it 'more' prevalent by making it dark and mysterious, as they did with most moral taboos in the past. After all, you can't be an evil edgelord if it's mainstreamed.

They did a similar thing with the occult before it pretty much became mainstream.

Yeah, but things with children are one....at least in the US. I'm not sure about Europe anymore. Hell, child porn was actually legal in the US before the 1960's, so if anything, that just supports the theory that they intentionally made it the only taboo we had left just to make sure that more people would do it.

Yeah though, it's legit. The age of Protestant moral sperging didn't just come out of nowhere. Distributing child pornography used to be legalized in some major parts of the US somewhere around the 1950's.

I think the case was that the officially stated party line was that sodomy, child porn, and bestiality, was bad, but that most people really didn't have a problem with it when you got their honest opinion. The thing is, with societies like America, unless you're living in it, it's extremely difficult to tell what the party line is, and what the reality is.

Hell, we have trouble telling the difference now. God knows what the people back then were actually like.
