Should've included that in the intro
So she can try to interact with her parents in a way that will get them to acknowledge their errors, but she should focus on not being a fool herself, because it is clear she isn't much better
her parents are the * I am my own god * sort and she herself is prone to pagan practices, and whereas she's fine living by herself, she wants to friend her mom back at least. You figure it poisons a child to not be able to talk properly with her own parents
She's proner to retarded LARPing escapism, so you should try to guide her to Christ, who has actual substance and meaning
It does. I would suggest she tried to re-establish communications with her mum, or at least give it some time to cool off
But yes, first things first. Your friend must come to Christ, otherwise she won't have the moral and mental foundation to mend the ties
it's been a few years in which she couldn't do much, God knows why. It's overwhelming to try to advice anything on my part
yeah, I am trying to guide her towards Christ this way
I can't accept it myself that there's the possibility of the ties being impossible to be mended back
I've been through that, my parents are hedonistic and kicked me out at an early age. My life didn't start improving until I shed their influence.
hedonism, touché
They can always be mended back, but in order to properly rebuke and not be an emotional mess, one has to appreciate what is truly good and truly evil
She needs to ignore them and focus on herself. Then when she is ready she can try and mend the ties.
But she needs to step back first.
is this the way you acted?
since you mentioned you had a similar experience
Only after years of floundering around, and tbh I still haven't spoken to my mother. But I'm getting better, slowly but surely.
I see
Family is a difficult thing, but sometimes you need to focus on yourself and where you need to be, instead of letting them cloud your judgement.
Luckily she's older than I was, so she shouldn't have as hard a time. But yeah, severing them to be reestablished at a later date is what I would recommend.
I'd say it takes time, because you can't just go back and pretend all is fine: by our nature we seek justice, so we are not satisfied until others understand the injustice that was made against. But to properly convince of that injustice takes charisma and wisdom, as I mentioned. And of course a cool head that won't explode emotionally.
guess it's the best one, nonetheless
it's all so difficult
she's a conviced lgbt member
you figure the fight here
She's a huge mess overall
Broken families tend to do that
Not surprising
bringing a hedonistic and comfortable modern man to the rigors and spiritual strictness of eastern orthodoxy will be quite the battle 😂
Truly a worthy heir to the parents
Well, show her that she is just a reiteration of her parents' mindset
Big upboat
It's a step by step process, once you convince her of one thing, it will set off a domino effect and eventually she will begum
The modesty and rejection of modernity follows
I do know that
yeah
but -- figure this --
she's from germany, and has no possibility of coming in touch with church members
and she's pretty much surrounded with lgbt
anyone knows germany's in a bad relationship with the church
