Indeed
Jews gave up the title of "God's chosen people" anyway after Jesus came around so
John 8:44
**John 8:44 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<44> You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. ```
ok, like i get that jews weren't a Godly people AT THE TIME of Christ, but much of the Christian religion is still based on judaism as it existed long before Christ. you cant deny it
moses, 10 commandments, noahs ark, etc etc etc
Christianity based on Jesus bud not jews
J U D E O - C H R I S T I A N
Judaism is not comparable to Christianity, because Judaism is based on the legal traditions (Mosaic Laws) carried out by the Jews in the days of old
@JoeyJoestar1337 explain the 10 commandments, explain the Old Testament
the same nibbas who were the Pharisees
What is there to "explain"?
those are what we'd call practicing jews today
Time for real IQ hours.
@ninjacats in short: God was nice enough to make Jews the chosen people. Moses got the ten commandments from God. But instead of accepting the commandments, Jews turned around and said "hmm nope we gonna do things our own way. In fact, these groups of elders at the base of the mountain know better than this "God" dude"
Judaism was branched off from Christianity, not the other way around
ok wait that logic doesnt follow
ok wait i see
so what your saying is
Literally just read the Torah, it explains how the roots of Judaism were founded
the judaism of old, before Christ, is the same as Christianity, whereas the jews of today are the actually "offshoot" is that what you mean?
The jews of today follow the legal traditions (aka the laws they wrote for themselves to rule over other people)
But yeah, Jews were chosen by God (originally). Those that followed him became Christian. Those who don't followed the talmud
i see
ok but still God as He existed before Christ was a jewish God, no?
thats a fair statement?
God is eternal and is basically the same, regardless of pre christ or after christ. He is only "jewish" insofar as to say Jews were the first group of people who God revealed himself to
>as He existed before Christ
Uh-oh.
👀
If God originally revealed himself to Greeks, we would be calling him a Greek God. Or if he revealed himself to Africans first, we'd call him an African God
So that doesn't matter
God is *God*. Not some Jewish God.
ok makes sense
The proof is that Greeks were close to deriving God through Logos
Aristotle discovered the "unmoved mover", a quality that accurately describes God
jojo is correct
the jew i live with is quarreling with her daughter because she doesnt want to teach her child hebrew and doesnt care for or follow any traditions
lol
Jews and Muslims don’t have the same God as us, you can’t change my mind
i also had a long conversation with her the other night and she was talking about how criticism of israel IS antisemitism, full stop. she also says anti-semitism is on the rise, that she can "feel it in the air"
