The major difference between May's deal and Johnson's deal is that it is definitive that Northern Ireland will leave the Single Market, and will therefore no longer fall under the jurisdiction of the European Courts.

I wasn't overly opposed to May's deal. I was just very uncomfortable with Northern Ireland, in practice, remaining in the EU indefinitely.

Now that this won't be the case, I've no real opposition to the deal.

I'd have rather left without a deal, but hey ho.

But, yes, this deal is very similar to the old one - so, if anything, it outs the ERG as careerists big time.
