but it's difficult to find proper resources on learning traditional Chinese. The resources on simplified Chinese are more accessible

it's got nothing to do with the spoken language

he only speaks Min Nan

and he is disappointed that I'm investing so many resources in learning Mandarin instead of Min Nan

Problem: chink is unhappy that she can't visit her family for CNY because she has exams. Should I:

a) surprise her with taking her to a Chinese social event nearby that has some weird concerts on CNY night, one of the singer is even Taiwanese

b) invite some of her chink friends who can't go back either, to our home, cook altogether and have a CNY stlye dinner here

or another suggestion?
