@Big Meme often I put my translate from Chinese -> English and type there for two reasons:

1. I'd like to read the pinyin subtitles to see if I chose the right characters (I don't use the pinyin input but BoPoMoFo)
2. I'd like to see the bullshit English translation to get a confirmation that the words make more or less sense

I'm not that good at Chinese yet and I feel that doing it this way, I learn faster by spotting my own mistakes sooner

well if you are still learning then using that is definately helpful. ive been learing long enough to the point where i try and challenge myself. no pinyin, and when i type i do type in pinyin and then select the character
