Most people are pressured into marriage really young because of their family's nagging (the day you graduate college: "why aren't you married yet?" )

So people get married when they don't want, usually to guys they don't really like

And most married couples don't live together, because the guys are off working somewhere

So people get lonely and they just cheat. Constantly. Some article said something like 80% of couples have at least one cheating partner

My co-workers have told me "I'd rather cheat than get a divorce"

Because cheating makes you lose face only if you're caught, but even if you do, it's far less than the backlash you'll get from a divorce

So stay with the husband/wife you don't love and just cheat to make yourself happy, is usually the general thought I got from my co-workers who are married

They all pretty much thought cheating is okay as long as they buy you stuff

Basically Chinese people are always in a rush to do everything . When they knock on doors, they will continuously bang bang until someone answers (even if you say something like I'm coming)

Or if they try to open a door that's locked, they will keep pulling frantically and hard trying to open the door

So if you don't get married quick it will be too late, no one will want you

And of course this can't be for every chink as different families have weird customs but this is a good generalization for a very large homogenous majority
