what's the mandarin to cantonese ratio there from your experience? <:thonk:288060975775612929>

2018-05-08 04:56:53 UTC

Like the whole country ?

2018-05-08 04:56:58 UTC

gz

2018-05-08 04:57:27 UTC

It seems like most people who are local speak cantonese. The younger people speaking both

2018-05-08 04:58:44 UTC

I don't have much experience I've been here for 2 days haha

2018-05-08 05:02:07 UTC

heard it's pretty chaotic there, even for china?

2018-05-08 05:03:22 UTC

how's it like compared to that tier 2 city you lived in?

2018-05-08 05:03:46 UTC

Haha in the area we are in id agree there is a fuckton of people

2018-05-08 05:05:00 UTC

Doesn't taste great. Just basic poor people food

2018-05-08 05:13:59 UTC

>bombed tilings

2018-05-08 05:14:59 UTC

I couldn't eat there without judging the owner into oblivion

2018-05-08 05:20:52 UTC

Most of China looks like this. You get used to it

2018-05-08 05:21:01 UTC

We usually eat in the nicer places but meh

2018-05-08 05:32:41 UTC

Its interesting. On our walk back we walked past a street that had 20 shops with air conditioning stuff

2018-05-08 05:32:48 UTC

Components, repairs, systems etc

2018-05-08 05:32:58 UTC

And then the next street was a rare currency street with 20 shops

2018-05-08 05:33:05 UTC

Bunch of old currency from China etc

2018-05-08 05:33:21 UTC

It's always like that. A whole street dedicated to one thing , but they all sell the same stuff

2018-05-08 05:33:34 UTC

My old city had a wig and hair street. Bunch of barbers and wig sellers

2018-05-08 05:34:02 UTC

So I'm assuming that one shop opens,is successful, then a bunch of copycats open up shop right next door

2018-05-08 05:34:14 UTC

I mean it's bizarre like 10 shops in a row that all look almost identical

2018-05-08 05:36:36 UTC

Comparing Guangzhou to the tier 3 city I live in now is pretty different ,but from an outsider it's the same. I think the quality of people in tier 1 cities is higher in general. Less honking, a little cleaner overall, nicer customer service

2018-05-08 05:36:52 UTC

Don't get me wrong, the bad stuff is still there, but it is significantly less.

2018-05-08 05:37:03 UTC

Much more bearable

2018-05-08 05:38:59 UTC

Ney

2018-05-08 05:39:02 UTC

In our city, the store clerk's just throw stuff at you and yell constantly

2018-05-08 05:39:47 UTC

I already judge poorfags here for not keeping their shit together in front of their houses.

2018-05-08 05:40:01 UTC

Oh man you'd hate China then hahaha

2018-05-08 05:40:19 UTC

Everything is a fucking mess. Most of the smaller stores just look like storage containers full of shit

2018-05-08 05:40:27 UTC

And the owner has to dig through piles to get what u want

2018-05-08 05:41:08 UTC

Need to learn a similar expression like "The entrance of your house is like the entrance to your mind" in Chinese before visiting

2018-05-08 05:41:43 UTC

If I don't like it, at least I can sperg out then

2018-05-08 05:42:01 UTC

Haha they only understand confuscious and Marx idioms

2018-05-08 05:42:21 UTC

Although Chinese is shit imo
Korean and Japanese seem far more similar to German

2018-05-08 05:42:43 UTC

Oh I read Marx

2018-05-08 05:42:53 UTC

They'll like me for sure

2018-05-08 05:46:39 UTC

I just feel that trying to get chinese people to understand expressions will just make you more miserable when you realise how futile it is

2018-05-08 05:47:55 UTC

the ones that you take an issue with are probably gonna be stubborn as hell

2018-05-08 05:58:17 UTC

Nice

2018-05-08 05:58:59 UTC

If everything fails I just give them a bible
