Most parent just think tablets are toys as well

I didn't have a phone for the longest time. First time I got one was when I was going on a trip and needed to be able to call my mother

I used it to take pictures, play games, etc

Then it broke

And I didn't get one for a long time

I got one is 7th grade but smart phones werent a thing until high school

tbh I miss my blackberry sometimes

I'm 19 so my first phone was a smart phone. I did play around with an old flip phone for a while

Couldn't call anyone, but I liked taking pictures and recording stuff

I had an LG chocolate. That was the worst phone ever. I eventually had a flip \phone before my blackberry

It's hard for kids to be functional in modern social circles without them these days

Maybe it's because I live in the middle of hell world

But it seems like a sunk cost of living in modern society

Most kids I know aren't that fucked up really. Obviously the effects of the sexual revolution and modern technology have been very bad but I don't think the average high school kid is a David Hogg or Emma Gonzalez

What kind of an area do you live in?

I'm probably in a bubble because I'm around tech workers and dual income households

But I constantly see medded out kids

A small town rural area where a lot of people still go to church so it's not as bad as in big urban areas I assume

It's extremely troubling
