I think this is actually step one to decentralize xbox

basically what i think they are doing

is making xbox live steam

and then at some point in the future

they will release hardware that is essentially a upgradable PC that runs windows

so instead of making a new console every 5 years

they can just sell upgrades or let 3rd parties sell upgrades
