I did a record/playback test with some new tape at 15ips and I was getting upwards of 18khz so i'm happy

I saw a pair of those motown eqs come up on auction few years back. The modified Altec graphic eqs with the notorious scratchy faders wired to pots instead

even at 7ips I got 17khz
