They have imported DDR machines and Bemani at Round 1's.
Most importantly they have modern and classic fighters
Also
lol
Bowling alleys used to have based arcade cabinet selection
Latest SF and MK plus 4 player racing game of the moment with a few classic atari/namco types thrown in
Pinball if lucky

it sucks arcades died out
dave and busters still exists
It was inevitable once home consoles came out
But it's just like drive-in movie theaters, they're still around, it's just that it's more of a niche thing now
Definitely recommend the drive-in movie theater if you ever get the chance by the way
The 2d fighter era saved arcades and carried them through the 90s. Even ps1 and saturn ports weren't as good as the jamma cabinet experience. RGBS or RGBHV screens. Sound too. Think of the TMNT intro
The arcade SF2 punch and kick sounds are all powerful
None of the ports got it right
The svac snes audio tho made guile stage music better
Ruined dhalsim stage tho
Idk what any of that means but house of the dead is fucking fun
I beat that shit in the arcade
It took like ten bucks
Time Crisis was also fun
What pissed me off is the lack of consistency in difficulty. Some arcades set it to CHEATIN ASS CPU mode
Others you could run through without much trouble
First time I noticed it was SF2 CE
At this rec complex with batting cages and shit I dominated through to m bison w/o problem
Then at a boardwalk arcade I kept getting btfo by balrog
You know what game is good as fuck
Metal Slug
That legit has to be one of the best games of all time
Just the whole series
The art is really good, the music is really good, it has really cool bosses and enemies, and it's just like a simple game that's also challenged and you can chill out and play it
It's like everything a video game is supposed to be
Yep
Metal Slug 3 was the first game I remember playing after successfully building my first media pc/mame rig
Is Metal Slug 3 the one where they're fighting the aliens
That one is really good
Yup
I remember in geology class in High School playing some flash version where you fight like a robot gorilla man
