yeah, not even the small churches get it right

2018-07-06 15:59:11 UTC

The small methodist church in the small farming community that I live in....the one my ex goes to, is purely a cult

2018-07-06 15:59:59 UTC

That's a shame

2018-07-06 16:00:40 UTC

So is the baptist church that my friend in Kenosha goes to, but if you follow my channel, in the near future you'll get to see that conversation

2018-07-06 16:01:09 UTC

Its really eye opening for me when I'm used to the good side of things, knowing that there's so much abuse on the flip side

2018-07-06 16:01:18 UTC

Yeah I'll definitely tune in

Never take the words of Bloggers, Podcasters, or Journalists as Gospel. Find all the facts and draw your own conclusions

^^^^or religious leaders

Absolutely. And well Christianity really holds that truth is revealed to you if you genuinely want to pursue it. While I think it's technically possible for a church/community to 'share' faith with one another, I think that ultimately the personal/spiritual relationship is largely (and perhaps must be) something you possess alone. Leaders should want to encourage personal relationships, not the "you must be one of us" stiik

Ironically, I just called the Democrat/Socialist party a cult

2018-07-06 17:41:08 UTC

It pretty much is these days, in the mainstream at least

I'll look into it. even though I didn't really advertise it until last year, I think I might be the progenitor of walk away

2018-07-12 06:45:48 UTC

Interesting

2018-07-12 07:05:03 UTC

I guess I don't like that it's a "movement"

2018-07-12 07:05:49 UTC

One of the reasons that I left the left is because I started to notice a very big groupthink that was going on, and I don't necessarily think that groupthink is effective in the long run

2018-07-12 07:06:25 UTC

I'm glad that so many people are walking away, but once it became a hashtag, I started to feel like there was societal pressure to go along with it

2018-07-12 07:12:54 UTC

I put a link up in the other links to a written article I wrote 8 months ago, chronicling how I left the Democrat party, or more accurately, how the Democrat Party left me.

2018-07-12 07:14:45 UTC

But the thing of it was, I didn't advertise it urging people to do it as well. My entire goal with starting my blog, and my video channel was not to try to push people into joining the red wave. It's always been more important to me to to present the facts that I saw, and comment my opinion on said facts, and let people come to their own conclusions on their own terms.

2018-07-12 07:19:02 UTC

I don't want people to vote Republican because I tell them to. I grew up in a Union Household voting Democrat because of that. I want people to vote the way that they think is right based on the facts that they see and how they interpret them. If you just lead a group of automatons to pull the red lever and think in a group instead of teaching them to draw their own conclusions and letting them vote red because they think it's right, then we're no better than the Democrats were in 08 and 12

2018-07-12 07:19:58 UTC

Then we wind up with a group of people that have no idea what the issues are and are instead voting Conservative because it's popular, and then letting media outlets and thought leaders tell them how they feel about the issues after

And then a rigorous super right winger comes into the scene and everyone jumps on his bandwagon, because he's right wing and that must be good, and then the party turns super extremist and all the work that the Libertarian wing and the small government wing spent the last 6 years trying to accomplish gets swept into the new extremist views of the next enigmatic thought controller
