mastadon and the fediverse
is their browser out?
I've been meaning to check it out
I've been trying to get caught up on all of it, and I think I get it now.
the fediverse is a network of decentralized networks all linked together

mastadon is the twitter of fediverse as far a social networks go
gab made a fork of mastodon on the network
every user can make their own server
cant be taken down
P2P or is it just self hosted
So not blockchain hm
maybe p2p, don't know
mastodon is not happy
Server control is the real issue right now
mastodon apps are voluntarilly taking their apps down to prevent gab users from using them
Doesn't mean much if the code is out in the wild
but anyone can fork them and put them back up because its open source
how just in the social sense

gab brought in a million users and became the largest group on the fediverse
And so the mastodon faces extinction again
that's the funny thing
Hunted down by the gabbai and driven out of the habitat
mastodon will go down and gab will still be there
Years later the gabbai will clone the mastodon in labs and resurrect it only to keep it in a locked environment
fediverse isn't opposing gab being there
Does fediverse have any communication infrastructure or is it just a map of "alternative platforms"
thats deeper than what I know
Because if it's just a map who really cares what's there or not, it's like publishing
claims of decentralized are everywhere
But if it's an API or protocol it could be used to communicate between different platforms

theres this site called decrypted that has posted a bunch of stories unfriendly to gab and they posted one today saying there is no way to take them down after this
