What makes you think they put any effort into understanding the other side?
You should listen to a leftist any time they put a motive on something you do. They'll usually call you hateful, or bigoted. It's actually THEIR psyche that operates under those terms. THEY are the ones who make decisions out of hate for their opponent, or oppose someone's ideas because of who they are, instead of logic.
