@Salacious Swanky Cat has a boner for Nuclear power

2018-12-17 06:24:01 UTC

Mostly a cool name. Nuclear energy is the way to go but it's just a name I came up with. Apologetics is the craft of defending the Faith.

Lol

2018-12-17 06:24:34 UTC

Apparently I leveled up.

2018-12-17 06:25:59 UTC

@Atomicglue yeah. Levels have no meaning. Like @J Edgar says, I do support nuclear energy and I’d like to learn more about it/defend it better in a debate.

2018-12-17 06:26:44 UTC

and you'd stick your wiener in the silo if it wouldn't kill you instantly

2018-12-17 06:27:47 UTC

@J Edgar lol. Not quite. I just want to prevent authoritarian environmentalists from effectively banning it all together.

2018-12-17 06:27:49 UTC

Apologetics comes from the Greek word "Apologia" meaning to make a Defense. It corresponds with defending the Christian Faith.

2018-12-17 06:28:54 UTC

@Atomicglue yes. I know that. The word can be used in different contexts too. (I’d also like to learn how to be a better Christian apologist too. Lol)

2018-12-17 06:30:09 UTC

I'm in several groups that do just that. Also I host occasionally a podcast/YouTube show called "The Council"

2018-12-17 06:30:47 UTC
2018-12-17 06:31:41 UTC
2018-12-17 06:32:13 UTC

is it a group chat or solo videos like I do?

2018-12-17 06:32:57 UTC

Group chat. But I've done some solo ones too.

2018-12-17 06:33:42 UTC

does one have to be religious to be on the council?

2018-12-17 06:34:07 UTC

Reformed Christian is necessary

2018-12-17 06:34:46 UTC

Don't know if the YouTube link went to my channel...

2018-12-17 06:35:00 UTC

I'm not religious. I'm at best religious adjacent. I study religion as a hobby, and I believe in the word, but I associate myself with no church

2018-12-17 06:35:05 UTC

It's called Atomic Apologetics

2018-12-17 06:35:29 UTC

Hmmm. I see.

2018-12-17 06:36:13 UTC

There you go

2018-12-17 06:36:21 UTC

Bingo

2018-12-17 06:37:13 UTC

It's the corruption of man in Christianity that I don't agree with. That's why I've dissociated myself with the Churches of Man

2018-12-17 06:38:15 UTC

But the Word instructs us to be a part of a Body of Believers. (Church)

2018-12-17 06:38:53 UTC

The word also says that wherever two or three come together in His name, there He is with them.

2018-12-17 06:39:02 UTC

barring the need for a corrupted community

2018-12-17 06:39:18 UTC

The corruption of Man only affirms that the Bible is true that were all wretched sinners.

2018-12-17 06:40:30 UTC

That particular verse is referring to church discipline. Read it in full context.

2018-12-17 06:42:48 UTC

Here's a great response on this. https://youtu.be/gs3yi9wA4jQ

2018-12-17 06:43:23 UTC

@Atomicglue Reformed applies to Presbyterian PCA right? That’s the denomination I’m going to now.

2018-12-17 06:44:18 UTC

@Atomicglue Westminster confession of faith?

2018-12-17 06:44:51 UTC

Reformed can be that. But I like to think it's for anyone who holds to the 5 Solas. WCF is solid

2018-12-17 06:45:17 UTC

@Atomicglue ok. I’m joining the server. Thanks for the invite. 😃

2018-12-17 06:45:47 UTC

Awesome

2018-12-17 06:56:23 UTC

@Atomicglue I don't disagree with most of what you said but.
"The corruption of Man only affirms that the Bible is true that were all wretched sinners"
This is circular reasoning, not a very good argument. Its like when feminist say anyone disagreeing must be because they are a misogynist, making it the reason we need more feminism.

2018-12-17 06:59:07 UTC

@Shadows it may be circular but it's not viciously circular. It ends with the Objective Truth of God.

2018-12-17 07:01:25 UTC

We don't need to debate this here, i'm heading to sleep anyway, but that statement didn't help with what i said :)

2018-12-17 07:03:32 UTC

@Shadows ok cool. Get some sleep and we'll tackle more another time

2018-12-17 07:06:02 UTC

@Shadows not exactly. The Bible is claiming that man is corrupted. Questioning the validity of the Bible because of the corruption of man is a confirmation of the Bible’s claim that man is corrupted. The claim that men are corrupt and that there are corrupt men in the church doesn’t automatically invalidate the truthfulness of the Bible itself. Therefore, it really isn’t circular reasoning. I just saw that you are going to bed, but I typed this out before then. Sorry. Good night
