But his policies are decidedly not center. I also don’t really think there is such a thing as center though. Like what is the centrist take on abortion?

Having a guiding philosophy and being willing to listen/learn from anyone/side (when necessary) aren't mutually exclusive.
Some of the things you listed i don't necessarily view as right wing, but i guess people are pushing and pulling these ideas so much they tend to lean one way more then another.
National Sovereignty is Trump's biggest campaign issue and the foundation of his platform. So is nationalism and security. It's a centrist issue. The left has made it a 'rightwing' issue
