My name is Duane, two syllables, Doo-eyn. it gets mispronounced all the time as Dwayne or Diane or Doo-anne. I have never cared, why is it such a big deal? If I am going to be around the person I may correct them, but folks may know me by some nickname for years before I ever inform them of my actual name, why is it such a big deal?

My co-worker Evgeny is equally no shits given, he knows he has a weird name, just accept it.

I have the most common name for men my age, spelled the most common way (Michael if you couldn't guess from my username) and people still call me Mitchell or Michelle sometimes, and spell my name wrong pretty regularly
