Haha, maybe. It would basically be an extension of the idea of city, county, state, and national govts right?
no, because at every point higher than village, you no longer have a connection to your constituents
The United Tribes of America?
the purpose of the US was to prevent consolidation of power, and through the inaction of the citizenry and the meddling of the "well meaning" that experiment has slowly been failing
the intended, inbuilt reset button was not pressed
so the question is: did it need a better reset button, or did it need to be harder to fuck up, or neither, or both?
So you think the US is slowly consolidating power over time?
I know it has. It's verifiable
Even though that power is spread out between more representatives and senators and judges and brauracrats than ever?
Beauracrats
More agencies. More commities
More of everything
You're aware that federal powers have grown over time yes? Rights have been slowly chipped away at, and States continually lose power over the US timeline
that the Federal Government hires a fuckton of people doesnt really negate the consolidation of power since the country was formed
But the president. The supposed leader of the federal government seems to be almost powerless to actually get anything done
Isn't that weird?
that's not really true either
Its the system working as intended.
The president doesn’t make the laws.
Is it true or not?
We have no wall from trump
There are checks and balances, but how much power comparatively to those checks and balances should he have?
We didn't get universal healthcare from obama
The president is the enforcer of laws and a figurehead for the nation. His job never was to “get things done” but its made to be such a big deal because its just one person compared to hundreds of reps & senators.
Is the system supposed to ruin all attempts at change?
yes, the system is supposed to avoid change
The system was meant to put Congress, the states, ahead of one head figure.
in fact the design of the system is such that the central government only receives power if 2/3rd of the states (not just a simple majority) agree that they should
Yet those systems at play are becoming increasingly corrupt.
And quite literally bicker.
what they never counted on is states being willing to give away power to avoid responsiblity
So why not eliminate the useless federal bickerers and let the states run themselves?
in theory most of what people bitch about in the US, should be getting directed at their state and local government, not the federal
the border wall is being built, as far as I can tell, it's just slow
you want universal healthcare, do it at the state level
Lol. I do not
It was an example
Because then we get what happens in the early 1800’s where the states don’t have any reason to listen or to help each other.
the original design was to largely reduce the federal bickering topics to a minimum, if I understand correctly
