Seems close enough.

2019-07-22 03:45:13 UTC

I think this quiz makes a few mistakes that are common to other quizzes, and a few new ones

2019-07-22 03:45:19 UTC

but I like the idea

2019-07-22 03:56:52 UTC

What test is that?

2019-07-22 03:58:15 UTC

Err, it looks like I found it, I think.

2019-07-22 04:08:33 UTC

Mine just gave me a hammer and sickle... the red and yellow should have clued me in...

2019-07-22 04:11:43 UTC

lel

2019-07-22 04:12:40 UTC

so the two things that primarily get me are the fat person question, and the conflation between personal belief and political position

2019-07-22 04:13:29 UTC

it probably shouldnt be labeled a political test, really

2019-07-22 04:13:53 UTC

What about the fat person question?

2019-07-22 04:14:16 UTC

well the implication is that you're leaning more blank slate if you think that fat people didnt get fat via genetics

2019-07-22 04:15:05 UTC

but the data we have suggests that unless you're one of a very small group of people, you probably got fat through behavoiur. Gentics can play a role, but the thing that will turn you into a hamplanet is your own decision to stuff 5 extra big macs in your mouth on the daily

2019-07-22 04:15:44 UTC

I'm sure there that can be an influence, yes, but obesity in America is largely due to lack of self-control, and the free market creating cheap, quick, and shitty food at convenience rate.

2019-07-22 04:15:59 UTC

> you probably got fat through behavior

2019-07-22 04:16:01 UTC

Agreed.

2019-07-22 04:16:44 UTC

the issue I take is that it's not really an opinion thing, it's fact. So for it to be thrown in there is a bit odd. I guess because there are some people who think theyre helpless to not be fat?

2019-07-22 04:17:01 UTC

Ah, I see where you're going with this.

2019-07-22 04:17:33 UTC

A large amount of people lack self-discipline in whatever form or shape that may take.

2019-07-22 04:17:46 UTC

well, just in the context of the quiz itself

2019-07-22 04:17:49 UTC

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/266396659062145025/602715905155137557/Screenshot_20190721-211718_Chrome.jpg

2019-07-22 04:17:50 UTC

Right.

2019-07-22 04:18:14 UTC

I think genetics play a large part in many aspects of development and later life. It *can* even influence behaviour

2019-07-22 04:18:25 UTC

and so in a roundabout way you could try to argue that it isn't your fault

2019-07-22 04:18:41 UTC

but you've now separated behaviour in the question as well

2019-07-22 04:18:46 UTC

I find it annoying when people try to fabricate any excuse under the sun.

2019-07-22 04:18:50 UTC

Take ownership in your faults.

2019-07-22 04:19:06 UTC

tbh most of the questions in the quiz fall into that, wherein you could have a full debate about the substance of the question itself

2019-07-22 04:19:15 UTC

Even if its your genes fault thats still you. Just accept it

2019-07-22 04:19:32 UTC

wherein you'd need to know the context of the statement you're being asked about

2019-07-22 04:19:32 UTC

@Beemann agreed

2019-07-22 04:19:52 UTC

And just like Hitler, we should strive towards genetic purity. Heil! /s

2019-07-22 04:20:27 UTC

another one that got me was the one about equality of opportunity resulting in "fairness"
I strongly suspect, but have not yet confirmed, that this is an idealism vs materialism argument. I suppose it could be markets too

2019-07-22 04:20:40 UTC

No well have much more effective methods than Hitler

2019-07-22 04:20:48 UTC

And we'll be nicer about it
