First off, sure, you could make an argument that appealing to the minority does in fact piss of the majority. However, there has to be some form of checks and balances. I’m a firm proponent for not catering to the “lowest common denominator.” The reason being is that this tends to adversely affect those around you, and in the case of present day we “tolerate” drug addicts, homelessness, encampments, and a very apathetic or I don’t give a fuck attitude. I speak as someone who used to externally show and say I don’t care to a large majority of issues and that got me in a lot of trouble. It was also a very poor mindset to have, and I wouldn’t be as successful as I am today if I still held that true.
Ravenclaw can go fuck their self. The essence of inequality is a foundation facet imbedded in nature. It’s part of everything and everyone, and you can not rid it. Likewise, chaos is a natural state of the universe, and so is the cold. Humans created jackets to combat the cold, just as we have created tools of power to combat our enemies whether human, technological, or animal. With that said, “your white privilege is showing.” Get the fuck outta here with that tripe shit. I’m brown, and I’ve been called numerous slurs or tropes thrown by the left. I know I’ve won the battle but they largely argue based off of emotional ineptitude.
Lol. I'm listening to Eric Striker debate a Communist as we speak https://youtu.be/uwXc_nUIXDk
I like Striker. He always interacts with the opposition
Also, is there a wealth disparity if I bust my ass studying, and make 200k/year? Should I be forced to pay greater taxes, or give away my hard earned cash so everyone else can be "equal?"
According to her, yes.
#notallravenclaws
Should we put people who are bad at basketball on the pro teams?
I'd also ask if she wants equality of opportunity, or outcome, but according to her third or fourth screenshot it's the latter.
Is there something I could have done to argue better?
Or is it a lost cause?
why is it always Harry Potter?
I actually think equality of opportunity is wrong to. I think most people are really trying to say when they say that is meritocracy
To follow up on equality of opportunity =/= meritocracy. You will hear the counter argument of rich kids having more opportunity than a poor kid due to differences in resources.
Correct.
Personally, if I have kids they will still have to work hard for what they earn.
I'm not as kind.
Are you a straight white male? YOU. WILL. NOT. CONVINCE. [most] MINORITIES. PERIOD.
Convince them what?
But I will help them if given the right attitude. They will be taught how to be self-sufficient.
That you're not the bane of their existence
They live on tribal lands and deal with their own internal issues
Alright. I'm slowly getting through more screenshots.
She threw the "you had both parents" card.
Stop. Being. Weak.
The general non-white populace that is
I don't have a large chunk of my family.
Hm what's your view on tribal land. I kinda feel like the reservations are trapping them in a bad situation
I don't know my biological Grandfather. I don't talk with my bio-Grandma. I don't speak with my Father. I do talk with my Mother, but she largely tossed her insecurities and issues onto my brother and I and made growing up difficult.
I was also bullied for being scrawny, and physically, mentally, and emotionally abused.
Oh dude, it's a veritable gulag archipelago of red trailer parks. It's an absolute mess
My close friend is on his tribal council yet things only get worse over time
hey does anyone have the Matt soy face image?
I can post it later when I'm at my computer (unless someone else gets to it first)
thanks, just tag me when you do

@Keeper GraveAve I finished the conversation, and I don't think you could have changed her mind, or at least her got to see the conversation in a new perspective without going full horn touchy-feely. I know for a fact we would both disagree on a base level. I know certain people will have different skilled disciplines, but likewise you should base your career decision off of the current market to some degree.
Why should society be forced to cater to some persons underwater basket weaving skill?
Thanks. Nice to hear someone rational beyond myself. It helps.
