Oh. Also, if you haven't already you should offer sharpening services.
I can sponsor him with sharp stuff instead of cash lol
Thanks.
I have a Japanese knive that needs sprucing.
cant ever have too many knives, eh?
DGI I sharpen swords and knives for people informally but I could probably advertise as such on my site
A knife for every gun in the home so you can attach bayonets for a purging good time
I have patches of missing hair all over my left arm lol
@uncephalized That would be appreciated. I would be willing to cover the costs of shipping both ways.
@[DGI]tech what do you need sharpened exactly?
oh a Japanese knife.
What kind? What length?
I'll find out in a little bit. I need to filter through my Amazon purchase list.
I'm currently looking at new apartments with my friend.
@[DGI]tech Prison shanks are a right wing talking point invented by the gun lobby.
Also since prison inmates are disproportionately black thats racist.

@[DGI]tech I'm happy to do it if you want to send it to me. It will be more of a hassle for you than taking it to someone locally, I'm sure--but I will guarantee it will be 'insanely sharp' again when it gets back to you...
damn how do you ship something safely so it keeps its sharpness?
the blade
@uncephalized Dank.
I want to eventually get stones to sharpen them myself, but I have a few other products that take priority.
My usual process is high-grit sandpaper followed by a two stage buffing to take the wire edge off--gets it nice and shavey.
Interesting. I'll have to do research. Build up my skill set.
There are many ways to sharpen an edge and all of them work. It comes down to preference and a practiced hand.
@Vesdii easiest way to safely package a knife is to tape two pieces of cardboard together tightly and slide the blade in between like so.
Ugly but highly effective as a temporary sheath.
