Also interestingly, there's no hard cap on ability scores in 3.5. You either have a softcap because you're at the maximum listed level, with the maximum enhancement cap etc, or you break the game with one or more splatbook options that basically gives you no soft or hard cap in one or more stats and you get better until you die
