depends on how many boxes you check

2019-08-18 09:16:01 UTC

Trump is doing a good job a checking as many as he can

2019-08-18 09:16:14 UTC

what are the boxes?

2019-08-18 09:18:07 UTC

rejection of democracy
arch-individualist
Far-right populism
attacking the media to the point when I have a convo with a conservative and send them an article from a page they don't like they will ignore it
attacking freedom of the press
attacking freedom of speech

2019-08-18 09:19:24 UTC

"wut? no fascism is putting 'us' at the top of power" Isnt that what the left does? Defining "us" as the working class?

2019-08-18 09:20:20 UTC

ideally 'working class' would be everyone. But normally it would be a group of people. Also we could add taking away right from minorities to that list above

2019-08-18 09:22:00 UTC

oh and another good example of giving up on something when it isn't working for you would be Row V Wade for example. That one they are trying to stack the courts for. I thought they loved the consitiution

2019-08-18 09:22:04 UTC

arch-individualist? Fascism isnt individualist at all. Its all about improving the position of a group/people and everyone even members of that group that stand in the way of this will dealt with in an unkind manner.

2019-08-18 09:23:00 UTC

What rights has Trump taken away from minorities?

2019-08-18 09:24:16 UTC

They do love the constitution which is why they want it enforced by stacking the courts with originalists who actually enforce it.

2019-08-18 09:24:43 UTC

the constitution was meant to be changed

2019-08-18 09:27:26 UTC

I'll give you the arch individualist one

2019-08-18 09:27:30 UTC

that was bad

2019-08-18 09:28:11 UTC

With amendments not by appointing liberal justices. Also you are undermining your previous point. If the constitution was ment to be changed conservatives would be acting accordingly by stacking courts.

2019-08-18 09:28:51 UTC

and taking away right yes I agree. But also the stacking the courts goes back to my anti democratic statement earlier

2019-08-18 09:29:26 UTC

obama was blocked by republicans and couldn't fill the seat in the house

2019-08-18 09:31:40 UTC

removing special protections for transgender people is not taking away their rights. You dont have a right to special treatment just because you claim to be the oposite gender. By removing these protections they are operating by the same rules as all other people. That doesnt sound like its so terrible.

2019-08-18 09:33:11 UTC

I won't into how anti science that statement was we can go over that later.

2019-08-18 09:33:29 UTC

Senate republicans dont have to confirm a justice they dont like, just as democrats wanted to block trumps nominees. Nothing wrong with that.

2019-08-18 09:33:57 UTC

should we remove the rules that protect race?

2019-08-18 09:34:04 UTC

yes

2019-08-18 09:34:08 UTC

also they didn't even call a vote btw

2019-08-18 09:34:16 UTC

they should have

2019-08-18 09:34:16 UTC

they blocked the vote

2019-08-18 09:34:21 UTC

exactly

2019-08-18 09:34:40 UTC

but they should not have confirmed if they didnt want to

2019-08-18 09:35:04 UTC

ok back on the protections of minorities should we protect remove all protected classes

2019-08-18 09:35:08 UTC

the reason for blocking the vote was dumb

2019-08-18 09:35:29 UTC

yes

2019-08-18 09:36:02 UTC

the reason was for a right leaning justice. Obama even game them a hard centrist

2019-08-18 09:36:06 UTC

and they still said no

2019-08-18 09:36:38 UTC

what do you think will happen to southern states if we remove minority protections

2019-08-18 09:38:08 UTC

replacing a originalist with a centrist (we probably disagree on what a centrist is), come on. When RBG dies you will probably not be fine with republicans nominating a "hard centrist"

2019-08-18 09:38:47 UTC

just don't take rights away from people then I probably don't care

2019-08-18 09:40:14 UTC

you dont have a right to be thought of highly by other people, you dont have a right to be employed by anyone and you dont have a right to be respected or accepted in anyones community

2019-08-18 09:41:11 UTC

"what do you think will happen to southern states if we remove minority protections" - nothing, you really think people cant be racist in their hiring now?

2019-08-18 09:41:18 UTC

sure, as long as that discrimination is not on the basis of the protected classes

2019-08-18 09:41:36 UTC

they can be but if found out they will have a problem on their hands

2019-08-18 09:42:57 UTC

no they will just find other reasons to fire someone now, if you really wanna fire someone for being black or white or whatever you can always find a legitimate reason if you just look hard enough

2019-08-18 09:44:55 UTC

then why care if it in law if you believe that
