That's kind of odd. Though I guess it makes sense that no one really wants to trust the future of their entire family to some boats they made by hand except for the crazy people who are kind of known for doing that.

I liked it. The 13-year-old Tongan is played by a 32-year-old white guy in brown face. I wonder if that would be allowed today.

Thump was the first character made for Election Year Knockout, and we made him with as few pieces and bones as possible. It turns out our game engine can handle a hell of a lot more, so we decided to re-draw and re-animate him entirely. Here's his special attack, the Stormy Smash. Old on the right, new on the left.

That’s so cool. Animation is such a great medium.

In some ways it's good to know I can make something work with and without severe constraints. I discovered in the new animation that I actually save a ton of memory using more, but smaller, pieces. They can be reused more often in different poses if I plan everything exactly right.

@Weepy We animate in Spine by Esoteric Software. Art is made in Photoshop, and we use Cocos2dx as our game engine.

If you're interested in the art pipeline, I can post some stuff on the process.

@C1PHER that is correct. It was concentrated solar. What happened is that the algorithm that controlled the mirrors happened to create a pattern during plant downtime where there were areas in the sky that were super heated enough to fry birds in mid-air. They had to change the algorithm so that it wouldn’t happen during plant downtime. I don’t think it was happening during normal operation though
