Wow

2018-11-16 20:03:56 UTC

I've seen reports it's a tree with presents on it in Cairo

2018-11-16 20:25:15 UTC

Boy I can't wait for black Friday

2018-11-16 22:00:46 UTC

who goes to stores anymore? Order everything online.....

2018-11-16 22:03:13 UTC

Same. I even get my groceries delivered.

2018-11-16 22:03:37 UTC

Kept getting in verbals with Boomers.

2018-11-16 22:03:58 UTC

well haven't gotten that far yet. Still like to pick out my own food

2018-11-16 22:04:07 UTC

Hahaha

2018-11-16 22:04:57 UTC

Only face to face shopping I still do is with my butcher.

2018-11-16 22:07:18 UTC

My butcher only cuts up the deer I give him....Hunting season around the corner

2018-11-16 22:09:12 UTC

I'm actually beginning to resent the overreliance on online interaction

2018-11-16 22:09:51 UTC

It does have draw backs but also a lot of up side

2018-11-16 22:10:59 UTC

Was thinking this morning about how isolated people are in meatspace these days

2018-11-16 22:12:04 UTC

Sam Harris recent podcast talked about this. His guess argued that the rise in online only relationship is related to the increase in anexity and depression being seen more and more in society

2018-11-16 22:12:32 UTC

I think it's a degenerative spiral

2018-11-16 22:13:15 UTC

Online interaction is easy but doesn't meet the same needs as meatspace interaction. However meatspace interaction is much harder to disconnect from and harder to "bubble"

2018-11-16 22:14:41 UTC

As people become more used to the sort of online "light switch" conversation, where you can just turn it on and off, and to the bubble, they get less capable of interacting meaningfully outside of that context, adding negative feedback to the purest source of positive social feedback

2018-11-16 22:45:41 UTC

Soon all second wave will die!

2018-11-16 22:45:57 UTC

Plus the play glorified pedophilia

2018-11-16 22:46:16 UTC

As most of the things they do

2018-11-16 23:37:04 UTC

anyone upset about the Bunnings Sausage sizzle kerfuffle?

2018-11-16 23:38:53 UTC

I've never even thought about it cuz I don't get onions with a regular snag

2018-11-16 23:42:28 UTC

I'm hearing a lot of high standards, but not a lot about what they bring to the table:

2018-11-16 23:44:48 UTC

yeah, but I do think a lot of women are over valuing themselves

2018-11-16 23:44:50 UTC

those faces... oof

2018-11-16 23:45:49 UTC

There some data from dating site that show most women think they all deserve top 20% of men, but men just go after everyone.

2018-11-16 23:45:52 UTC

My key ingredient is a long term healthy relationship tbh

2018-11-16 23:52:22 UTC

I don't see lack of casual hookups as necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, though it may be symptomatic of other bad things

2018-11-17 00:03:24 UTC

Its the source of change that's an issue not the symptom. If casual hookups were down because people were only having sex in committed relationships, than that would be good. In reality we've made a bunch of women delusional with the self esteem movement and damaged men for feminism.

2018-11-17 00:13:08 UTC

A lot of the people quoted did it because they were prioritizing other shit, were paranoid about STDs or didn't want to casually fuck in general tbh

Apparently they got in trouble for portraying the treatment of gays in Chechnya as a plot point, saying that it was a scheme put in place by vampires in control of the place.
