What a cunt

2019-05-10 00:35:12 UTC

Wonder how much insurance companies paid the dems to float this idea?

2019-05-10 00:53:41 UTC

Can we just rush production of self driving cars to kill the insurance industry I’m really tired of these cunts

2019-05-10 01:06:42 UTC

Tesla claims that they will have full self driving cars by next year @Bigfoot

2019-05-10 01:07:06 UTC

I was just listening to a JRE on that

2019-05-10 01:07:17 UTC

Car AI and the Elon timescale

2019-05-10 01:07:41 UTC

I don't think we will have full self driving cars for a while, and they'll have problems for a while after even without malicious behaviour

2019-05-10 01:09:29 UTC

Elon always overpromises. I think because he knows it will keep his feet to the fire

2019-05-10 01:10:01 UTC

He’ll have it figured out before 2024 and it’ll be a big political argument for Trump’s successor to argue

2019-05-10 01:10:36 UTC

Yeah, Elon always sets impossible goals knowing that's how he's going to get the most done

2019-05-10 01:11:52 UTC

The only way to be as successful as he has become is to completely dispose of the idea of limitations

2019-05-10 01:15:10 UTC

I think self driving cars will happen faster than what people think

2019-05-10 01:15:33 UTC

Once the hardware is in place, the rest will come exponentially fast

2019-05-10 01:16:17 UTC

Do I think Tesla will actually deliver on Elon’s timescale? Probably not, but it may be close.

2019-05-10 01:17:31 UTC

The non Elon estimate I heard was 5-10

2019-05-10 01:18:20 UTC

I'd like to know how they work on roads that are worn all to hell, and insane roundabouts with traffic lines/lanes going all over the place and markers scribbled everywhere

2019-05-10 01:18:57 UTC

Even then I think you're going to need people in the drivers seat to make sure shit doesn't get wild

2019-05-10 01:21:10 UTC

Maybe.

2019-05-10 01:22:47 UTC

@Bigfoot Are you sure you don't want self driving cars so you can't be blamed for your car running over those people?

2019-05-10 01:25:38 UTC

Considering where the people that are going to be writing the code that the self driving car abides by, I don't have faith that a self driving car would keep me safe.

2019-05-10 01:26:05 UTC

Where the people that write the code come from, I mean.

2019-05-10 01:28:06 UTC

They'd need a special witness for those cases and results from a diagnostics test, to demonstrate if it was possible that the controls were or weren't overridden. Something tells me they'd trust the sensors themselves to the point of infallibility (despite prevailing education telling us they could fail like any other part of a car), and that you'd have a hard case in proving you're not guilty

2019-05-10 01:31:59 UTC

Self driving cars will be safer then people driving, it will just take awhile. @wolfman1911

2019-05-10 01:33:45 UTC

I know, but I'm not terribly keen on giving up that kind of control to a car, and I suspect a lot of other people aren't either.

2019-05-10 01:37:25 UTC

I don't think people should, some people really love driving. But who knows what will happen down the road.

2019-05-10 13:51:06 UTC

I love vaccinations and all, but chicken pox really isn't a big deal. Practically everyone I grew up with contracted it at a young age at some point and nobody died.

(Granted it's more lethal in adults)

2019-05-10 13:52:22 UTC

It always carries a level of risk and, as you said, the risks are greater in adults.

2019-05-10 14:06:12 UTC

Also it gives you a much higher chance of having shingles as an adult which I’ve heard is a terrible experience

2019-05-10 14:20:17 UTC

Yeah but you can get shingles from the vaccine as well though it's less likely. And shingles while uncomfortable isn't something to be overly concerned with.

Plus your immunity against chickenpox will be stronger if you contract it at a young age. An adult should totally get vaccinated if they never had it, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the communities that throw CP parties.

2019-05-10 14:31:38 UTC

Kids can still die from chickenpox, which is why the pox parties are ultimately a bad idea.

2019-05-10 14:32:19 UTC

Chicken pox is a marginal case but it’s almost always better to get vaccinated

2019-05-10 14:34:45 UTC

It is a rare occurrence, but you usually don't want to play the numbers game if death can occur.

2019-05-10 18:01:01 UTC

Some people like prison.
