*doesn't own a gun*

2019-05-18 01:02:46 UTC

I don't think Tulsi would have the power to end 2A, especially with how the courts have been stacked by Trump, so it would not be the end if she got elected.

2019-05-18 01:03:22 UTC

what if she stacks the court

2019-05-18 01:03:32 UTC

the left has been talking about doing that

2019-05-18 01:05:00 UTC

That would require a lot of legislative setup, no?

2019-05-18 01:07:12 UTC

I don't think she would be that bold. I think bernie would be more likely to do something like just seize the banks

2019-05-18 01:07:57 UTC

I could see him just start to nationalize things without asking for permission

2019-05-18 01:09:45 UTC

I'm happy when both sides are talking, but if she is pushing the same nonsense (her websites policies), that the rest of the dems are, i don't see much of a difference.

2019-05-18 01:11:07 UTC

My best case scenario is the dems elect the craziest person and that person loses big to trump. then the democrats start moving towards the center

2019-05-18 01:12:17 UTC

my worst case is the democrats elect the craziest person, that person wins and we get civil war and that person uses nukes on the country killing basically everyone

2019-05-18 01:13:23 UTC

second worst case scenario is a democrat implements socialism/communism, the right doesn't fight back and the results kill over a hundred million people in the USA

2019-05-18 01:15:27 UTC

There would be a revolution before 100M could die here

2019-05-18 01:15:36 UTC

It would make the bread lines easier.

2019-05-18 01:18:36 UTC

that's the only scenario where there is historical precedent for communists being able to reach that proportion in a country. They killed a third of the population in cambodia. So it is technically more likely.

2019-05-18 01:18:52 UTC

Bread lines are a good thing - commie grandpa

2019-05-18 01:20:46 UTC

proportionally speaking less people would die if the far-right took power than if the far-left took power.

2019-05-18 01:22:10 UTC

I'm still not being given a good idea of what the far right specifically is, possibly because it's not a thing :^)

2019-05-18 01:24:02 UTC

I guess it depends on what axis your working on. In the american sense its probably something like religious ancaps.

2019-05-18 01:24:31 UTC

In the broader discussion it seems to be anything people don't like

2019-05-18 01:24:43 UTC

But even working the axis where hitler is far right, the death by proportion is still less for the right.

2019-05-18 01:24:56 UTC

Even Peterson essentially attributes racism to the list of right wing traits

2019-05-18 01:25:09 UTC

As though socialist governments have never enacted ethnic purges

2019-05-18 01:25:35 UTC

what about mugabe

2019-05-18 01:26:00 UTC

What about the Holodomor, Chinese occupation of other ethnically distinct regions etc

2019-05-18 01:26:03 UTC

oh i see what you were saying

2019-05-18 01:26:07 UTC

Yeah

2019-05-18 01:26:11 UTC

There's lots of examples

2019-05-18 01:26:13 UTC

i misread what you said

2019-05-18 01:26:19 UTC

S'all good I figured as much

2019-05-18 01:26:54 UTC

I think in Peterson's case he's talking more about the European sense of right wing as in nationalism, and is basically saying no ethnonationalism

2019-05-18 01:27:25 UTC

well he's canadian, maybe they use the european right and left instead of the american one

2019-05-18 01:27:40 UTC

Would the Trotsky/Stalin divide be Left/Right then? Like this is where it breaks down

2019-05-18 01:28:21 UTC

^What? Are we using the David Pakman scale now where stalin is right wing?

2019-05-18 01:28:51 UTC

Trotsky/Stalin divide was Worldwide Communism vs Communism in One Nation

2019-05-18 01:29:02 UTC

Which ended up being an empire mind you

2019-05-18 01:29:14 UTC

But there's still a global/national divide

2019-05-18 01:29:30 UTC

I'd argue both are left wing

2019-05-18 01:31:59 UTC

so national communism versus global communism. That makes no sense because it leaves out a wide spectrum of other systems

2019-05-18 01:32:25 UTC

Right I'm talking about this in terms of nationalism being "right wing"

2019-05-18 01:32:45 UTC

I'm not convinced it is

2019-05-18 01:32:59 UTC

I find issue is there is economic and cultural scale and mixing those two things makes it hard to put things on a scale
