What would actually happen: 100 million additional voting citizens who don't share our culture or langauge, and most of whom are poor, would be added to the Republic. They would have no loyalty to American history or governments, would have no reason to develop such, would largely vote as a bloc for massive wealth transfers Southward, and we would either end up a larger, poorer country, or have a major civil war and end up two or more smaller, poorer countries.
