Just finished watching a Twitch stream. The streamer was doing a Q&A with the chat and ended up quoting Jordan Peterson while trying to provide advice to someone. A minority of the chat suddenly exploded with condemnations against quoting such a terrible person, and the streamer kept trying to figure out what they were talking about. No one in the chat was providing an actual reason they hated him. The most meaningful answers I was able to find were "he thinks universities are dominated by the left", "he's said some sexist, racist, and homophobic things,", "he's got terrible opinions on trans people", and "he rubs elbows with alt-right types like Ben Shapiro". Felt bad for the streamer because he genuinely couldn't figure out what their issue with him was but had to tacitly disavow him anyway just because of the outrage.
