has anyone here played disco elysium? I decided to pick it up because I keep hearing about how amazing the writing is, and then within the first hour of the game, it seems to have already started preaching far left shit at me *hard*

you go through sequences of "maybe communist" "maybe fascist" "maybe ultralib" and then "oh you're just a normal dude"

honestly, the conversation that's really putting me off at this point is this one

yeah that was maybe the weakest one

I've already noticed several times where your only options are to deviate from the conversation or hard disagree and call people out for stuff

and considering I was at the sub hour mark, I find it hard to believe that the rest of the game wouldn't be the same

so all of your options are going to derive from the fact that your character is sort of a huge fuckup and a total hippie junkie, but after the first little bit I got into a good groove and now I rarely have 0 options I dont want at all

that's a fair point

you can just say "fuck the commies, monarchy forever" basically, and you'll get popup options depending on your stats

like being able to verbally dominate and intimidate people, or reacting quickly to some of the dumb bullshit that flies your way

the first one that really stuck out to me was that I could choose to call myself a feminist and berate the cafeteria manager, and I was just left there wondering how he even knows what a feminist is, considering that he supposedly doesn't remember _ANYTHING_

so you dont need to "pass" any conversation. You can just leave and do something else

normally I don't care about political views being pushed in media, but it feels like the game is pushing certain things REALLY hard
