DEFINITELY use an alias, and shoah all of your social media and change your phone number if they have it. Because they will give it out if they sympathize with antifa, or just share it with other journalists
Being doxxed through a phone interview is highly unlikely as long as you use a false name. You can lie about where you live and your job too, the main idea is to get our message out there and as long as you don't try to focus on yourself it'll turn out fine. Also use a fake phone number or private number if you're worried about them tracing you to whitepages.
Yeah recording is a good idea. I've been in a bunch of video interviews and avoided doxxing by using aliases and fake info about myself. Also if you don't want to answer a question or can't, you don't have to and they more than likely won't mention that you refused to answer a question because it doesn't benefit their piece.
