BTW the youtube channel "Stargate Command" uploads two full stargate episodes every wormhole wednesday and leaves them up for 48 hours. They are on a summer break at the moment but definitly check them out for free episodes and nice lifechat

I'll admit it's a much more better wormhole than fucking bullshit DS9 one

It wasn't actually that great.

Stargate is good, but it's not close to the Expanse. Lots of SG episodes are retellings of various other stories and plots anyways.

To any hard core libertarian in the group, what is your response to stuff like Desmond and Lactasia. I know what I *think* the libertarian response would be, but I want to hear from someone more libertarian than i.

I'm probably not a hardcore enough libertarian to answer that, but I'd bet that if that wasn't being full-on promoted as a way for their moms to score virtue points, we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place.

The government's main responsibility is to protect the rights of it's citizens. Sometimes the way parents treat their children will end up violating that child's future freedoms. (You would be amazed how much your childhood affects who you are as an adult)

Anyone without blinders on that studies child development will agree that what the drag kids parents are doing is, while not intentionally abusive, will stunt and damage the kids development as bad, or worse than physically abusive parents.

So the government has the responsibility to protect children from an environment where their parents actions will fuck them up to the point that in the future their capacity to live a free life is reduced by a significant margin.

I dont think kids should be in the public eye, or in sexual scenarios. Both appear to be linked to issues later in life. That said, if your son wants to wear a dress at home, I cant say that I give a fuck. I take issue with people consciously indoctrinating their kids, but I dont think that falls under legislatable action

hmm, none of the answers I was expecting. I was expecting "as long as no one is physical harmed and no one's rights are infringed and the new free markets are opened, then it's fine." Is what I expected but what @DJ_Anuz said was very accurate.

well if a full blown libertarian wants to defend the whole Desmond thing saying it's not bad/evil/disgusting, go ahead and make your case. I can't think of one besides the theoretical example i just gave.
