This one example, the details don't matter. The point I was making is history is dictated and written down and not always honestly.

The midnight ride of Paul Revere comes to mind. Forgive me, don't remember the entire story. But Paul was credited for making the journey on his own, when he actually only made the shortest leg of the journey before handing it off to the next rider.

Then Longfellow wrote "The midnight ride of Paul Revere" song and thus history was altered.
