Really, the opposition has gotten so bad that he seems to have to go out of his way to not be completely killing it right now. I'd think he could get away with pushing hard on the 1st and 2nd amendment if he wanted to, and could keep his head down and stay out of twitter drama for a week.'

2019-08-11 15:30:27 UTC

he's been fucking with 2A for some time now

2019-08-11 15:37:03 UTC

@Beemann yeah that's my main issue with him. That and he's not done much to decrease federal spending. (Granted that's not really his job)

I like the tax cuts, but tax cuts without a cut in spending just results in more debt and will speed the coming collapse of the dollar.

2019-08-11 15:38:03 UTC

he is just too knee jerk, and will be swung by major events even when the solution he's working on will do nothing for it

2019-08-11 15:39:29 UTC

this is the issue with voting in a wildcard who doesnt get bogged down by congress

2019-08-11 15:39:51 UTC

Yeah, I wish he were more principled.

2019-08-11 15:40:14 UTC

He's been great on trade and the border, but too reactive elsewhere

2019-08-11 15:40:25 UTC

I would actually prefer if Trump had Obama/Trudeau activity levels, but then a good chunk of his voterbase would be radicalizing tbh

2019-08-11 15:40:39 UTC

he's not addressing the core issue behind trade still

2019-08-11 15:41:28 UTC

What would you say that is?

2019-08-11 15:41:48 UTC

the fact that the US promises X Y and Z but trades with countries that dont

2019-08-11 15:42:04 UTC

it's honestly the same concept that has the automation apocalypse people spooked

2019-08-11 15:42:59 UTC

but essentially regulation has made it more financially viable to ship raw materials halfway around the world, and cheap products back again for people to replace sometimes monthly or yearly

2019-08-11 15:43:08 UTC

than it is to pay an American to make a good product

2019-08-11 15:45:42 UTC

Tariff fuckery from China aside, that problem will still remain and only be obfuscated as long as protectionism is in full swing, and I doubt most companies in NA are going to make significant changes as long as theyre comfortably making money at an investor pleasing rate - even if that profit is artificially driven

2019-08-11 15:50:13 UTC

thinking about it more actually, you could get around this to a greater extent (though not completely) by automating and then retraining people, the primary issue likely boiling down to the culture around jobs in some areas of the 'States, and the lack of communal support, which should be counted on both in motivating people to make better job decisions, and easing social costs while those decisions are made. Right now the Coal industry is being held up, when it's really not terribly efficient and has been causing y'all to blow up fucking mountains to get more coal. Because those same people have been convinced that this is their trade and that's how it has been and should always be, any suggestion to shift them sideways into another energy source is going to be met with a lot of anger, but government cant be expected to prop that shit up by directly funding it, or bringing nuclear down

2019-08-11 16:04:24 UTC

That's all true. The problem is that it's not really something that Trump has full control over. At least he's doing something so that even though I would be fine with isolationism if done right, at least our trade deals are being re-negotiated in terms semi favorable to us.

2019-08-11 16:04:35 UTC

Even if we can't compete with deregulated economies.

2019-08-11 16:06:58 UTC

Trump is actually in one of the positions where he could do something about it, it just wouldn't be popular, and it might involve more meddling before there's less

2019-08-11 16:08:03 UTC

I guess that's what I mean. Sure he might technically have the authority, but he would be killing his re-election chances.

2019-08-11 16:09:09 UTC

After 2020 is when I would take the more unpopular actions if I were him.

2019-08-11 16:12:32 UTC

I dont think he will though, that's the thing

2019-08-11 16:26:20 UTC

Probably not. But at least he's doing more, and it's not like there are many other options thanks to our two party system.

2019-08-11 16:32:15 UTC

The two party system is aids.

2019-08-12 00:11:41 UTC

And yet there hasn't been anything else implemented throughout all of human history due to the, dare I say, _bigoted_ nature of humanity

2019-08-12 00:24:16 UTC

@Deleted User wut... I'm pretty sure that's just white man's culture.

No other culture has two party system problems.

2019-08-12 03:01:07 UTC

@Legalize no can do, sorry @Peachpanther I'm at work.

2019-08-12 03:27:58 UTC

Is he waiting until Wednesday?

2019-08-12 03:29:07 UTC

theory: epstein died of asphyxia induced cardiac arrest from vigorous masturbation and erotic asphyxiation

2019-08-12 03:30:14 UTC

Epstein didn't die

2019-08-12 03:30:20 UTC

He only respawned

2019-08-12 03:30:49 UTC

I went into voice, but @Peachpanther isn't talking

2019-08-12 03:31:23 UTC

Am I supposed to be listening in braille or some shit?

2019-08-12 03:31:55 UTC

Isn't that called morse code?

2019-08-12 03:32:23 UTC

Epstein was never actually in prison, it's been a body double this whole time

2019-08-12 03:32:34 UTC

I wonder if there's ever been a blind dude who had no arms, had to read braille with his dick

2019-08-12 03:32:49 UTC

why not his face?

2019-08-12 03:32:57 UTC

like that dude who plays SF with his mouth

2019-08-12 03:33:04 UTC

SF?

2019-08-12 03:33:07 UTC
